The Health Task Force’s (HTF’s) purpose is to restore and promote ongoing health care services for the benefit of people in the Nelson and KootenayLake area. The HTF wishes to ensure that the urgent health care needs of all people living in Nelson and the West Kootenay Region are adequately met.
Rationale for goal :
People in the City of Nelson and surrounding area have been placed at risk as a result of cuts to health care implemented in 2002. The HTF wants people’s urgent health care needs met.
Further Rationale :
The immediate hiring of a full time resident surgeon for the Kootenay Lake Hospital (KLH), the purchase or lease of a portable CT scanner, and establishment of 3 critical care beds at the KLH.

Your support in signing the on line petition is key to the future success of HTF in providing proper health care services to the City of Nelson and surrounding region
The HTF plans to present its online petition to the leaders of the NDP and Liberal parties and demand that they support proper health services as described in the website prior to the next provincial election.
